Pinoy Tumblr.: Why the RH Bill is bad: The Real Truth behind the Supposed Truth about the RH Bill

pinoytumblr:

I used to support the RH Bill. I no longer do. By the end of this document, neither would you. I have not supported the RH Bill since I attended a lecture in Megamall about the truth behind it. That lecture truly enlightened me. My only hope is that this holy light of enlightenment passes…

Then the universe: The first Ms. Universe and her Filipino-Finnish family.
A while back, another Filipino and his love life made international news. The first Ms. Universe, Armi Kuusela of Finland, after touring the world over, fell in love with a Filipino businessman by the name of Virgilio “Gil” Hilario. And apparently strong in her commitment to her new found love, a month before her reign ended, she chose to be Mrs. Hilario and relinquish her crown. Gil, friends say, swept Armi off her feet with his dancing skills; and when Armi left for Japan to continue her duties, Gil followed her and even got into a scuffle over her, and married her with a right black eye fresh on his face.
But if the first Ms. Universe was already taken, what about the other first beauty queens of the world? Well the first Ms. International, Stella Márquez of Columbia, also fell for a Pinoy, this time Filipino mestizo businessman, Jorge Araneta. And, yes, the first Ms. Asia winner, Angela Filmer from Malaysia, was snatched up by Filipino Jose Faustino.
Kinda more recently: actor Aga Mulach and the stunning 1993 Miss Universe, Dayanara Torres.

Filipinos cannot progress if they cannot follow even simple guidelines.

pinoytumblr:

A noted blog commentator once made an assertion that the Philippines will never be a great nation unless Filipinos learn to live by the principle of the “rule of law.” Indeed, some people even insist that none of the calls by certain sectors of Philippine society for a system change like a shift from a Presidential to a Parliamentary system or even constitutional amendments will work to uplift the status of the nation because Filipinos simply cannot follow the “rule of law.”

China: 3 Filipinos' death sentence final

pinoytumblr:

China confirmed last night that it would carry out today the execution of Ramon Credo, Sally Ordinario-Villanueva and Elizabeth Batain for drug smuggling, ignoring a last minute plea for mercy by the Philippine government.

“The verdict is final by the Chinese judicial authorities in strict accordance with the Chinese law. We hope that the Philippine side could understand,” Sun Yi, Chinese embassy spokesman, said.

“The Chinese side will provide all the necessary assistance to the relatives and Philippine consular officials for their visits to the convicted and other related matters,” he said.

Earlier, officials said they were resigned to the fate of the three convicts.
